Welcome
to the HDCPC website
We
would like to encourage newcomers to the sport of clay pigeon shooting to
come along and try out our DTL (Down The Line) and ABT (Automatic Ball
Trap) facilities at our new clubhouse.
Experienced
shooters are also welcome and many of our competitions are SCTA registered
events. There are also a few 50 target competitions for
the less adventurous!
All
shoots including practices are now in STEEL or non-lead shot only.
Steel Cartridges
Cartridges will be available at the ground from Sandy Gall.
It should be noted that they are from personal stock and will therefore
be available in small numbers for visitors, beginners and other shooters
who don't have shotgun certificates.
Regular steel shooters and local members should buy direct from
suppliers such as R.MacLeod & Son (Tain), Trap & Field Supplies (Lhanbryde)
or other stockist.
Shoot
Date Changes
There has been a change to
our shoot calendar in June & July. There will now be a 100ABT as
advertised in the SCTA Bulletin and a 100DTL registered shoot as on our
fixture list and website. Please bear with us whilst running the
shoot as there will be a delay due to the two shoots running together
whilst avoiding the overlap of the targets on the layouts. We will
try and get both shoots through as soon as possible. Early
entries would be appreciated.
July shoot dates have been
switched so that the Club & Colts Shoot is now on 5th July and the 100
Highland ABT will be on 26th July to avoid a clash with the South Area
Championship.
Apologies for the
inconvenience caused by the changes.
Last
Shoot
- 100ABT Selection Shoot (31st May 2009)
There was a record attendance
(steel shot) for the first ABT shoot of 2009. 42 guns competed and
although the day was sunny, the wind and quite a few 'no targets' didn't
help. However, Hugh Pinkerton wasn't hindered, shooting a
very impressive three 24's and a 25 straight. This earned him high
gun and equal record score with steel shot ahead of Ian Robb on 94.
