Shoot Report

The Christmas shoot was a great success, with 51 competitors shooting for the Viewfirth Trophy.  Ally MacNeil took an early lead with a 25/75 which turned out to be the only one of the day with Douglas Henderson, Sandy Gall and Donald Mackay  just a second barrel behind on 25/74's.  The 25 targets for the money prizes was also well contested, with a four way shoot off between Peter Mackay, David Alford, Douglas and Sandy all shooting 25/74's.  Douglas won that shoot off and was then in another one with Sandy for High Gun after they both shot 50/148's for the overall competition.  Chairman of the club, Douglas won the shoot off for the Viewfirth Trophy which left Sandy taking the Veterans trophy.  The contest still wasn't over as Shona Marshall and Catherine Fraser still had to shoot off to decide the winner of the Ladies trophy, which Shona won preventing Catherine from making it the hatrick!  Ally MacNeil took the Seniors trophy loosing just one target for the day and Johnathan Allan won the Juniors beating Edward Jedan who won the Novices trophy.  There was also a black clay in amongst the orange ones for each squad of shooters, which if shot, put the shooter into a shoot off.  This ended up with a 10 way shoot off which was quickly narrowed down to Peter Mackay and Mark Bryant winning the bottles of whisky and wine respectively.   Many thanks to all who donated prizes.
